We always go to the British Craft Trade Fair as 'buyers' to find new artists and makers for our little shop but this year I'm going to showcase my own work too. It'll be my first trade show so I'm trying to think of all the awkward questions I ask as a buyer to prepare for the event.
Up until now, my work has been exclusive to Yellowstone, but as other stores have been getting in touch and asking to sell my ceramics and cards, I've decided to develop my work to sell in other outlets around the country. It's been a big decision but I'm looking forward to working with other outlets. I find it much easier selling other peoples work so I think it's a good thing to step outside my comfort zone and start shouting about the fact that I'm a designer too.
Stevie is coming along to help out on my stand and generally encourage other stores to fall in love with my work (that man is full of charm, so fingers crossed) and we are really looking forward to showcasing my ceramics, prints, fabrics and greetings cards.
The show is running 12th-14th April 2015 at Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate HG2 8QZ. I'd highly recommend it as we've found some really treasured artists there in the past.
I'd LOVE to know if you're coming? Or are you exhibiting? Make sure you come and say HIYA.
