Hi, I'm Lauren and I have worked at Yellowstone for just under 3 years. I finished my textiles degree last year and graduated in the summer. I started my full time role as Online & Creative Manager as soon as I finished at University - which has been amazing! I work in both the studio and shop and have a super varied role, I never wanted a job where I would be doing the same thing everyday, so this position suits me perfectly.
What do you do besides working at Yellowstone?
My Boyfriend and I are currently in the middle of renovating our first home together. We have been together for a long time (I'd say childhood sweethearts but I'm only 22 and it seems a silly thing to say) so it’s super exciting to finally be moving in together. My new years resolution was to get fitter and read more, so besides working at Yellowstone I better make a start putting those into action.
What is your favourite item at Yellowstone?
It has to be Papermoon Illustrations, I have loved her prints since my first day at Yellowstone and I already have 3 ready for the kitchen. It's great that all the prints work together or apart and you can really mix and match with them. I can't wait to get them framed and on the wall.
In the 3 years that I have worked at Yellowstone I have worked as weekend support, as a supervisor and now in my role as the online and creative manager. So I know pretty much all the responsibilities that come with each job role - because I've done it before. Working in the studio as well as the shop means that I'm in the know about most things, so I'd say I bring the communication and having experience across most the roles at Yellowstone I can lend my hand to most job responsibilities.
What is your favourite time of year working at Yellowstone?
I LOVE working at Christmas, I love the buzz of the shoppers and how busy the village gets. It keeps us on our toes! Working the late nights and the light switch on is just the best and watching the parade always gets me into the Christmas spirit.
and finally, Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I am a proud Eurovision fan, after Christmas it is my next favourite event, so I am already on the countdown! I watch the semi finals and then watch the final with my sister who shares my Eurovision passion. By the final we have already researched a winner and learnt the words to the best songs.
