1 kit £9.90 (approx $14 USD)
Contents of the kit:
· Preformed Skeleton
· 3 different thicknesses of stainless steel wire.
· Instruction booklet
· 1 x pair of pliers.
The starter kits contain a preformed skeleton so you don’t have to work out all the dimensions of limbs etc.. The first step is to bend the skeleton to the desired pose. It also contains 3 types of wire. Thick for building out the figure, thin for adding skin and detail and finally some thin springy wire for making wings. It contains more than enough wire so you don’t have to worry about running out, pliers and instructions. The resulting fairy figures stand about 8 inches high. I must point out that I do not recommend as a toy for children as wire can be quite sharp.
Q- What is a fairy kit?
A- Our fairy kits give you the chance to make your own wire sculpture fairy. They contain everything you need to have a go at making your own 8 inch wire fairy sculpture.
Q- What is in a kit?
A- A preformed skeleton (so you don’t have to work out all the dimensions of limbs etc), 3 types of wire (thick for building out the figure, thin for adding skin and detail and finally some thin springy wire for making wings. It contains more than enough wire so you don’t have to worry about running out), pliers (for bending and cutting the wire) and a detailed instruction booklet (taking you through each stage or the wire faire sculpting process stage by stage).
Q- How many type of fairy kits are there?
A- There is only one type of fairy kit, but the same kit makes all of the different fairies. You just bend the preformed skeleton to be in the position you’d like your fairy to be in!
Q- Are they hard to make?
A- Lots of our customers who are not creative (nurses, teachers etc) make these and they look fantastic! Do not be put off if you are not a natural artist. The instructions will guide you through every step of the process.
Q- How long do they take to make?
A- This depends on how confident a maker you are so it can range from a few hours to a whole day. Many of our customers have made their fairy over a series of evenings. It is definitely a craft you can put down and pick up. The kits include plenty of wire so you can have a go and then start from scratch once you’ve built your confidence up.
Q- I'm worried mine will look awful and I'll waste my time/money.
A- The kit comes with a 'fairy skeleton' that you build the wire around so your fairy will ALWAYS be in proportion! The only difference will be her position and how much wire you put on to her (which you can play around with until you're happy). You'll love your fairy, I promise.
