Job Role: Part Time Supervisor 3 days a week (Monday, Friday & Sunday 10am - 5.30pm)
Supervisor job description, including their routine daily duties:
-Manage sales assistant staff -Greeting customers who enter the shop. -Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for. -Being responsible for processing cash and card payments. -Being responsible to balancing the till and cashing up at the end of the working day. -Stocking shelves with merchandise. -Ensuring pricing is correct. -Answering queries from customers. -Dealing with discrepancies and problems with the support of a manager. -Visual merchandising and shop displays. -Reporting to shop manager on stock levels and customer orders -Dealing with customer commissions and ensuring deadlines are met by other staff members. -Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers. -Keeping the store tidy and clean, this includes dusting, vacuuming and mopping. -Responsible dealing with customer complaints. -Working within established guidelines, particularly with brands. -Attaching price tags and stickers to merchandise on the shop floor. -Help drive and motivate the team to meet sales targets. -Responsible for security within the store and being on the look out for shoplifters and breakages. -Keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays. -Responsible for taking new deliveries and pricing stock.
The personal skills that are required for the job: -Having a friendly and engaging personality. -Comfortable working with members of the public. -Should have a confident manner and be comfortable working alone. -Must be helpful and polite. -Supervisors should be physically fit as they will be on their feet for most of the day and may be required to lift fairly heavy stock. -You should have a comprehensive understanding of craft and the creative/handmade sector. -Able to work as part of a sales team as well as take charge of the team. -Must be approachable and open with members of the public. -Should be of a smart appearance and articulate.
